The Pikes Peak Regional Science and Engineering Fair  is a judged competition open to any secondary student (grade 6-12)  from Elbert, El Paso, Park and Teller Counties with individual or team projects in

SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, MATH AND COMPUTER SCIENCE.

The Virtual 2021 PPRSEF was held on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Twenty PPRSEF projects qualified to compete in the 2021 Virtual CSEF, which was held in April.  Results for the 2021 Virtual CSEF can be found here:  2021 Virtual CSEF Awards - PPRSEF Marked.pdf

Three PPRSEF participants qulified to participante in the 2021 Regeneron Virtual International Science and Engineering Fair in early May.   Competing against over 1400 projects from 64 countries, regions and territories, all three ISEF finalists from the PPRSEF  earned category awards.  

         Sean Brooks, junior at Pine Creek High School, earned a third place award in Environmental Engineering and an alternate spot to attend the NC State Engineering Summer Camp.

         Alden Kruse, senior at Schullandheim, earned a second place award in Environmental Engineering.

        Kathryn Kummel , senior at Palmer High School, earned a second place award in Physics and Astronomy.

The 2022 PPRSEF is scheduled for Saturday, February 26, 2022, at UCCS.

  We are planning for an in-person fair. 

Registration will be open, on this website, by August 2, 2021. 

Students wishing to start projects before that date should contact the PPRSEF SRC at pprsef.colorado@gmail.com

The 2022 PPRSEF will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Student registration will open on August 2, 2021 and close on January 20, 2022.

We plan for the 2022 to be an in-person fair.  The process of getting project ideas approved, desigining and conducting the exploration has not changed.

The PPRSEF is an ISEF affiliated regional fair and all projects must comply with ISEF rules. All projects require completion of Form 1, Form 1A, Form 1B and Form 3.  Other forms may be needed, depending on the project. Individual forms can downloaded on the Paperwork tab of a Students page.  A complete set of forms can be found here:  2022 ISEF Forms.pdf

 

Here are the steps needed to complete your registration and be be entered to compete in the 2022 PPRSEF:

  • Students must complete the process of creating an account on this website no later than January 20, 2022.  
  • All required forms need to be completed and uploaded on the PAPERWORK section of this website. [See the Uploading Forms PDF found below ]
  • The PPRSEF SRC will review all paperwork and either approve each form or give detailed feedback for steps required for approval.  
  • When all required forms are approved, the project will be approved and experimentation can begin. This process usually takes 2 - 14 days, depending on needed corrections. 
  • Projects must be approved by the PPRSEF SRC or a school SRC prior to beginning experimentation.
  • Required paperwork should completed and uploaded to this website starting in September.
  • ** Original, completed ISEF forms should be kept in a project folder. 
  • A completed Project Information Form, a signed 1B Form & payment must be received NO LATER THAN JANUARY 28, 2022

Need more help with forms?  The Denver Regional Science Fair has produced tutorial videos which may be helpful. There is a video for each form, which the Denver fair has generously allowed us to share. They can be found by going to the fair's website:  https://clas.ucdenver.edu/denversciencefair  and selecting the Paperwork Tutorials link.

Decisions about requiring a digital display for the 2022 PPRSEF will be made soon.  Many judges felt these were helpful to have before actual judging took place.

Teachers can register at any time by selecting the Create Account tab at the top of the page.  Registering on this website gives you access to all paperwork submitted by your students (if they select you as their teacher).  It also allows us to contact you with updates and questions.  If you are already registered, please check to be sure that your school and contact information is accurate.

We use 3 types of volunteers each year:
